I can appreciate the sellers' situation. But speaking as a buyer I've seen solo ads drop in quality and prices remain the same since 4 years ago when I last did this. This drop in quality is due to an increase mobile traffic being less engaged. Even if sellers kept the usual price but had "minimum 80% desktop" commitments like they do with "90% Tier 1" on their ads then that would keep quality high in a competitive marketplace. The first sellers to adopt this sort of service will be the ones who sweep up.

After ordering a desktop only solo, I can report that I'm getting between 2-3 times as much engagement with my followup emails than a normal/mobile solo. Yes I used a different seller this time but it's more likely that it is the users being on a desktop that makes them more engaged than those on mobile.
It's quite logical really. A user might opt in to your offer while out in public with all sorts of distractions around them, including the phone they're beeping a new Whatsapp message or whatever. But on desktop, users are in working mode sat in a working environment. It is entirely more committed. Plus they may use desktops more than mobile the rest of the time too.
Sellers should either cease including mobile clicks or just make them at discounted prices with desktop solos being the normal price. There is a definite gap in the market here for budding solo ad sellers.

What are you selling/promoting? I just don't get why anyone would cut out well over 50% of the market. No mobile orders mystify me. I never recommend it and didn't even offer it at first but many people ask for it. So I said if I can make an extra 5c a click I guess why not. I still DO NOT recommend it.
So I just wanted to ask is it because of the product/service you promote? Or do you honestly believe that someone using a desktop computer is more likely to buy/signup than someone using a mobile device?
I think someone using a desktop computer is more engaged, more likely to read your copy more carefully, is more likely to remember they subscribed to you, and is more likely to use desktops to open future emails and thus is more likely to buy.

Kevin, this is my stats this year so far. Majority of people have a smart phone in T1 countries these days.
Smart phones have instant notifications,so when they receive an email, they open it instantly most of the time (I get 60% of my clicks within the 1st hour of sending an email).
There could be many reasons why people open mostly from a mobile phone but I never bothered searching for reasons because mobile traffic works just as well.
I'm going to have another go, and I may select no mobile. I'd rather pay extra for better engaged users.
Online shopping on mobile is at 15%, tablets at 10% while on desktop is 63% in 2019.
Most of my own buyers are on desktop, very few of them show as on a mobile buying after reading a long sales letter.
I know getting instant sales after optin is not the main goal, but I bet they're paying more attention as a whole on desktop, or they just use mobiles less. I don't use a mobile at all in my life.

Mobile and unresponsive are 2 different things.
Mobile traffic is the same responsive as any other source. If you got unresponsive traffic, you probably got what you paid for..
Agreed mobile and unresponsive are two different things, but 100% mobile is not realistic or natural internet traffic.
Only 61% of email opens in USA occurred on mobile by 2019.
Yet solo ads are nearly 100% mobile. It doesn't look legit.

Of the whole internet combined (like checking your Facebook or Whatsapp), mobile accounts for only about 53% of the whole internet as of 2019. Traffic certainly is not almost 100% mobile and unresponsive after taking an action of interest.
I've been tracking website stats for many years. This is not true.

When I get traffic from other sources, the desktop/mobile ratio always looks natural. I didn't bother to select no mobile because I expect a reasonable ratio. But instead I get almost 100% mobile. Natural traffic doesn't work that way, and this looks fishy. Buyers also are mostly on desktop (I know my stats). When combined with the fact that hardly any of these new 'subscribers' are even opening my emails after opting in ever again, I smell kippers. I've done email marketing before an I never get these sorts of stats.

Surely longer swipes bring better leads. With short swipes people just click the link in front of them and maybe opt in. But people who click at the bottom of a longer email are more invested in what you have to say. It might be harder for sellers to provide the clicks but lead quality for the buyer might be better.
