Getting disappointed in the solos I have purchased here lately..When I buy ahead for a selected date...am I wrong to expect that it at least starts on that day?..And I am seeing that 100 and 150 clicks are taking 4-5 days to deliver. Not everyone does this...but 2 out of 3 are. Is this the new normal?

I have had that problem for some time as well. It is disappointing to say the least.

I like to time my campaigns to the day. I know they have 90 hours to finish but it defeats the purpose of us selecting the day in the order page.

What then happens is I get 2 sellers delivering at the same time because neither of them began on the day I set. This makes it a bit of a nuisance to track and analyze conversions their clicks.

I have some insight that might help all of you. Your delivery issues are a combination of a couple of things.

1. Over the last 6 to 8 months the major IM autoresponders (Aweber, Getresponse) as well as SMTP delivery services have been closing down solo sellers left and right for spam and link issues. This has left sellers with 2 choices.

a) To start using alternative autoresponders and smtp delivery that offers FAR POORER DELIVER which leads to EXTENDED solo delivery time.

or

b) Invest thousands of dollars and a lot of time in running their own Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) in order to totally take over email delivery.

Option B is what I have personally chosen to do. However, a number of sellers are not able to invest that kind of money or have the technical skills to manage something like an MTA.

2. Assuming that you are only using "BASE FILTERS." There is a particular filter included in those base filters that checks if Javascript is on. It appears over the last month or so this filter has been DIALED UP and is blocking a far greater number of clicks.

Udimi has taken the position that if Javascript is off that it MUST BE A "BOT." I personally as well as a number of other sellers disagree with this position.

Some security conscious people do turn Javascript off or only allow it on certain sites. And with the state of hacking today more and more people are doing this along with adding proxies into their normal surfing habits.

I have noticed on some solos 10 to 15 percent of clicks are now getting hit by this filter.

So hopefully that gives you a little more insight as to why some sellers may be having delivery issues.

That helps..thank you..but if someone can't deliver or at least start the solo on the date ordered...shouldn't they say.."I want to accept your order but won't be able to start it that date"..which gives us the option to pick someone else?

I too am experiencing poor results on solos for the past few months which has left me skiddish to purchase any solos at the moment. Heather, if what you say is true, is there a way to get around javascript when purchasing a solo? Thanks

Well I don't think sellers always know when they are going to run into deliverability issues. So it would be hard to say that on purchase.

1. For example aWeber. While I don't use aWeber I talk to other IM'ers who still do. Did you know over the last 6 days they have been having SERIOUS issues with deliverability?

Moreover, last year they were hit with MULTIPLE and MASSIVE DDOS attacks that shut them down for what seemed like an eternity. It didn't stop until the fools decided to start routing through Prolexic.

2. Another issue is that sometimes specific mail hosts have issues as well. Last month I was having trouble getting my email into SBCGLOBAL accounts. Fortunately, I have a deliverability specialist who monitors for these type of things on a regular basis and works on correcting them. He even has contacts at SBC and had a difficult time getting it resolved,

3. I think the 90 hour window is fair especially given these type of issues that are prevalent today more then ever. I agree that good communication is important but I am hoping that I am opening your eyes as to what is going on. I wouldn't be so quick to blame sellers as most from what I can tell are doing their best to work around these problems.

Turn OFF base filters as they are defaulted on and deliverability should improve.

I've used 5 different solo vendors in the past month and a half with two having delay deliveries. But all was delivered per agreed time table. Excellent insight by Heather. My thoughts are if the seller is aware of such delays on their end, convey that to the buyer or provide a notice of some sort.

The problem for me lately has been that since the new filters were introduced, it now takes me just about the double the number of clicks to deliver a solo. In other words, in order to deliver 100 clicks I have to send at least 200 clicks.

Since I can no longer use my Aweber & GetResponse accounts to deliver solos (they will close your account if you use it to sell solos), that means I have had to resort to using some of the methods Heather mentioned to deliver my clicks. This involves added cost on my end, which has forced me to almost double the amount I charge per click. This, in turn, has resulted in me selling 30-40 solos per month to selling around 5-8 solos per month (if I'm lucky).

Luckily, I've been making money online long enough to know how to open other income streams and I was easily able to replace that income. However, the point is that if the changes here have affected me like that then they have most certainly affected others the same way.

This means that what has potentially happened is that a lot of good sellers have been driven away from selling here. That has a direct result on the buyer experience here as well. Just my two cents.

Thanks Heather. It isn't all that hard to make money online if you know what you're doing. Recently I just opened a Fiverr account and I have worked that up to about $20-$30 a day in income pretty quickly. There is a lot of potential there and I can see how one could make $100+ per day from Fiverr alone if you know how to do it.

I've been working full time on the Internet since May of 2009 so I know how to turn a buck or two online. However, I feel bad for those who are selling solos as their main source of income because of all of the limitations that have been placed on that industry as of late.

Selling solos can be a very lucrative business, but without the means to make a large initial investment and also having the knowledge and time to set up and run your own mail server like Heather has done, it's getting harder and harder to make money doing that.

The more I think about it, the more reasons I have to quit selling solos altogether. I have been able to make just as much from my list, if not more, by promoting digital products and services to them.

I wish all of the sellers here on Udimi the best of luck, but it looks like my days of selling solos are slowly coming to an end. And maybe that's not such a bad thing.

The seller has up to 90 hours from the date of your solo to deliver all of the clicks. If the clicks have not been delivered after the 90 hour time limit I believe your money will be automatically be returned to you for all undelivered clicks.

Thanks Chris am new here and still trying to see how everything works. At the last minute the seller refunded my money for no reason but I found some one who is already doing it. But the other seller did waste my time. Am on fiverr and after 4 year am making 5k+ a month

yes especially when ordered way ahead of time...if there is problem...seller should at least contact us. My solo from Friday 150 clicks...rec 7 so far..my solo from Saturday..125 clicks...rec 8 so far. This is not normal...I have been with safe swaps and udimi for years and this is not normal. I keep list of the good ones and the bad ones. That is all I can do.

I had two different solos set for today. This has not happened before. But another link was attached to both solos, I tried two different sellers and they are two different platforms. I tested before posting and links worked. I check after the first accepted and it was fine. After the second seller accepted. I check the link and it would not go through. I wrote her immediately and she has been on several times and has ignored my messages. Now I check the other solo and I am getting the same block.. They were due to run today. and there is nothing 0 on both solos. So Communication is not possible when ignored. Is it not the policy if they are not delivered on the day you are not charged??

I agree 100%. On a very rare occasion I may have to start a solo late, and if that happens I would always contact the buyer and let them know and give them the option to get a refund if they wish.

The reason why I think it's important to start the solo on the date of purchase is because some buyers are relying on those clicks for affiliate contests, etc. Sometimes the buyer also has a time sensitive offer. It's definitely not cool to start the solo a day late.
