I am getting people to sign up at my landing page but once they sign up, the do not double opt in by confirming. What is it that I am doing wrong?

How many people have signed up to your landing page? About a third of people that optin usually confirm their subscription. Are you using an good autoresponder so the confirmation email is getting to their inbox? Do you have an incentive like a free ebook, guide, or video that they would want to get by confirming their optin?

How simple is that. I have this discussion daily. Most solo list members are curious and they only sign up to see whats up. If they do not get what they want immediately your sunk. My math shows that single opt-in GOOD lead cost 75% less then double opt-in. That is even after you have removed bounces and junk email addresses.
The next trick is to get them to open your email and engage in your content. I am able to get 50-75% engagement. But Ive been doing this for 14 years.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. About 1/3 are opting in after signing up and about 90% are viewing the video I sent after they confirmed. I am just trying to make sure I am not wasting money before I ramp this up.

sounds like your autoreponder is not taking your opt ins, to your email, you should always get an email when a lead opt ins, also if your working with opt in make that the thank you page has the correct url, something small can be huge when building your list, also i agree with William Mcrea, everything has gone mobile, and single opt ins and videos are the number 1 converting results, jvzoo, would be an awesome place to check out some awesome content, also clickbank, good luck!!
