Why are buyers trying to import subscribers into secondary lists and complaining when their imports are rejected? If my subscribers sign up to an offer, I do not want them bombarded with offers from other lists that they have not subscribed to. This is becoming a common practice with buyers and it is not ethical.

I think this has been going on since forever. I don't see any way to stop this. Just like you can use smtp services to send to your subscribers in addition to autoresponder service. People are just trying to make their money back after they buy solos.

I am hearing more reports recently of buyers requesting refunds because their autoresponders will not accept their imports. We send their offers to our subscribers, we are not responsible for these leads being uploaded to secondary lists.

Thats not a good reason for a refund. Basically no autoresponder accepts imports these days, even if they say they do.
