As most of you probably know from our https://udimi.com/filter, on average we ban 12 scams per day. At the moment of writing (20 April 2019), we have 20 340 banned users. All these people tried to steal from honest people.
At Udimi we take our user’s safety seriously. In an effort to create further security we are implementing an ID check system, to be performed on sellers before they receive their first payment.
To make this change easy for everybody, there will be three phases:
1. Verification of sellers joined after 1 April 2019
2. Verification of sellers joined in 2019
3. Verification of all other sellers
The verification will be performed by an outsource company and it will cost each seller 3 EUR.
* All current sellers with 10+ sales will get free verification;
* All sellers with verified ID will get special badge on the profile;
* Additional “Only verified IDs” filter will be added to search engine;
* Verified sellers won’t be able to use a pen name
I’ll be happy to hear your thoughts and suggestions before we start the process.

Things is I would call people and require a government Id to approve sellerS. They need to be real people and not a pen-names. If you’ve had to ban this many people it just means you should not have approved them in the first place....
I get it...it’s a tough balancing act...you want my Id, or to call me brining it on. I just love you are taking this step. To me it’s another example of your organization growing into the leadership role you’ve earned.

Currently To get paid though, they need verified : pp or epayment or transferwise now, how much that really changes things i wonder...
And are you making it optional if there is going to be a badge and filter for it ?
And is the Official name on ID will replace all current names for everyone on udimi? this is going to be messy/confusing considering how many ppl use pen names or business names or just usernames ... i think this step not really necessary
And what about Buyers ? we all know the mount of dodgy buyers , they are all over udimi, and sellers having to refund unfairly in many many cases just to avoid bad review, Any plans on regarding this ? ex. no refund policy, bad review appeal, report buyer option ... extra

I agree with you Mark, it's the buyers that need verifying as there are some that bribe sellers in to making refunds. Having said that there are many very good buyers and sellers. I would like to see a no refund policy also.

yes i heard of that before actually ... This will be interesting ... and i think sellers should be allowed to use a username or business name instead of personal name, i mean verifying and using business names are 2 different things ... jusrt my 2 cents :)

We can't have "no refund" policy, because this won't do any good to Udimi in general.
In addition, any customer can call the bank and initiate a chargeback in 5 minutes. Disputes like that are very time consuming and in most cases not even worth the time spent.
But be sure to report all scammy buyers to our support and they will take care of them.

I would encourage this. I know there are sellers that have buyer pen name so they can buy orders from new sellers and then complain to get them dropped. I’ve coached a few people that had this happen. They do everything right and then has to face a Buyer that is only their to cause trouble. Good news is 99.99% of buyers are wonderful :) thanks a million times for those :)

Sorry if this is off topic but I think the new profile layouts don't look very good at all. Now there are giant thumbs down icons on everyone profiles, that can't be good for sales. Also everyone personal bio that makes their profile unique is at the very bottom where you can't see it. Everyone profile just looks the same now. And there are random stats everywhere that I can't imagine a normal buyer could make much sense of.
