What's the range of open rates you often see on your welcome message?
My flow is
Opt in → Thank You page → Welcome Email
I got 95 opt-ins and 14 opens.
Just trying to get a feel for the cost of an engaged subscriber.
Thanks!

Hello Lance,
Open rate is around 15%. Not unusual.
Please double-check your autoresponder's setup and make sure the emails hit the recipient's inbox. If you want to maximize the reach of your email marketing campaigns, you’ll need to do everything possible in order to avoid being flagged as spam. Make sure the follow-up emails are not going into the junk/spam folders. It might be the reason for reducing the email opening rate.

Just looking at my own stats you are very lucky to get 15% engagement on first email.
one issue is you probably email under your name, but your optin form may not include your name. The result is they have no idea who you are, or why they are getting an email from you.

After running a few more solos, it seems like it's VERY dependent on the solo ad vendor.
The best I've had is 80% opens and the worst I've had is 6% opens.
Looks like the vendor is the biggest component!
Thanks for the feedback, folks!

True…a vendor that buys from other vendors to build a list will probably not be good. Vendors that grow list via other means are better….find a good vendor and buy from them until the quality drops…and it will..then change. Mix up vendors, keep track…but don’t just settle one one vendor.

Agreed! It's been really helpful to do open tracking as well as opt-in tracking.

Also important..the autoresponder and if the emails are from an email sequnce or a broadcast. Broadcast emails on new accounts tend to be pushed into spam boxes with gmail. Email sequence tend to be inboxed and thus better results.
