If your focused on sales then your missing the real point of buying solo ads. They are simple there to build your list that you can mail over and over. An occasional sale is great because it confirms the traffic is real. Usually you like to keep the product with low price point like 7 bucks.

The SECRET is the money is made in a STRONG follow-up sequence, building a relationship with the list and either selling them your products or participating in JV's or both.

I agree with Heather's logic. However, I think that the best filter legitimate clicks from fake clicks are sales. That's what we need to focus on: Sales report assures future potential buyers to buy from the seller.

Alan, really it's great to make sales while you'r receiving solos, but unfortunately sales need time after you list the subscribers on your autoresponder and build strong relationship with them.

I agree Heather, it all depends on your funnel and of course the traffic that you are getting from the clicks

Mohamed Hassan,I agree you have to build a relationship with the list first and then over a period of time they will buy but usually not on the first solo ad

you talk about a "STRONG follow-up sequence". What is the open rate of this kind of a follow-up sequence?

Open rates tell you nothing about how effective your email campaign is. Wrong thing to focus on.

Instead you want to focus on building TRUST. You do that by treating your list as a friend. Send them useful things. Don't hammer them with garbage. The sales will follow, so will your open rates.

It's really a very simple formula. People tend to over analyze it and over complicate it.

Actually the best filter I find is watching the IP Host's of the inbound traffic. You start seeing a bunch of Datacenters and other non "last mile" providers, not a couple but DOZEN's, something is up.

Arm yourself with who the major "last mile" providers are around the world and you will have some pretty clean traffic. It is very, very difficult to spoof IP Hosts.

Udimi and Safe Swaps already does a pretty good job of this automatically right now.

I believe that the open rate does tell you a lot about your list. If you buys 100 solos and you have 1 person that opens your follow up emails I think that is S**T
